Serbian school at Gornja varoš,
4, Svetotrojičina Street

The Serbian school at Gornja varoš was built in 1872 and extended in 1912 after the design by Milan J. Jeremić and Joseph Marx, as a ground floor building of an exceptionally elongated oblong plan, turned by its longer side to the street.

The facade was done in the style of neoclassicism with art nouveau elements. The house has a characteristic uniform rhythm of window apertures with low plastic decoration around them. The school is located in immediate vicinity of the churchyard of the Holy Trinity church to which it originally belonged.

The house is a document on the development of education in Zemun.
